Thank you Dieselman743 for sharing the article and Sea_Monster for the good words!
We are currently working on 2010 specifications so if you haven’t done already, we would love to hear your suggestions.
Cheers

Well done Symantec.
But I must admit I find the test a bit questionable. Too many big AV companies are loosing it ;)

Dear Ms Karali,
I was hoping that Symantec iron out the bugs in NIS2009 before concentrating on NIS2010.
There are still some bugs which I have experience and already discussed in this forum.
Thank you.
P/S:- NIS2009 still is probably THE BEST AV I have seen. Lots of Good reviews too.

True. I think that's even the best improvement they made

Don't worry, this will happen. They are just looking for ideas at this point. There will be new builds for v2009 to improve

Stu,
I hope there is a fix soon. I have been experience Symantec Service Framework errors and also NIS2009 icon disappearing from my System Tray & some other minor issues...like long Pulse update...etc.
Other then those bugs, NIS2009 works like a charm. I love the program, no regrets....
Thank you
I already got some information about Pulse Update problem form Symantec Principal Software Engineer...
Everyone please wait ... They will release Pulse Update HOTFIX as soon as possible !
Cheers!
It's kind of strange to me, seeing these errors listed on the forum here.
I installed NIS 2009 on three Windows systems with different Windows flavors (Vista Home Premium, XP Professional SP3 and XP Home Edition SP3) and none of them suffer any of these problems listed here...
I don't know and I don't understand why the performance of the same software differs from one computer to another with the same operating systems...
Exactly!
We issue patches through LiveUpdate as needed, and we have a new 2009 build in the works. At the same time, we are looking at 2010.
Well, if you got it, you flaunt it.
Some guy posted that in the Kaspersky forum, claiming that those tests were biased...and pcmag was paid to rate norton highly.
I must disagree. I told them that if they want to critize, they need to gather the evidence and put it on the table, like what I did at the Kaspersky forums. Then the mods stop accepting my posts and now they have to review my posts before they are posted.
Same with Tech Support Guy. I had my money on Norton 2009 and the other contenders were BItdefender, NOD32, and Kaspersky. It soon came down to Norton and Kaspersky, and they other guy never presented evidence and in another post said that he "NEVER TRIED NORTON AND NEVER WILL". Yet he's there running his mouth about Norton, when he never even tried it. Then, when pressed, he presented evidence that Norton 2007 was heavy on system resources.......an article from PCworld. I quickly countered the claim, showing a article from PCworld about Norton 2008 being number 1 when put up against Kaspersky, Bitdefender, etc.
Then I was banned.
Dear Tech0utsider,
Sorry you'll banned.
I totally agreed with your opinion and would have done the same. However, from a perspective of an average Non-Tech Geek, I think reviews are always bias.
I also feel that users should not totally follow the reviews. Users should try and find a piece of software that they feel comfortable.
I had tried TRENDMICRO, MCAFEE, NOD, ZONEALARM & PANDA....of course, NORTON too.
I ultimately choose NIS as my "perfecto" security software of course, NIS has it faults (hey....every single little AV software has its good and bad)but I was very comfortable with NIS; none of those previous AV products made me feel comfortable.
Anyway, there are trial periods in most of these products, users can try them out. Reviews are just a opinions of individuals and it is really up to the enduser to try them.
Thank you
Good point Sea_monster
Although as new to computers in general I'm to scared about chopping and changing AVs,because I don't know enough on my own for an informed opinion. So I'm here seeing what you guys use then looking at the product myself on the net and in the realworld.I only Chose Norton because of the marketing on cnet and even then I chose wrong as I thought big was better and picked 360!I got that sorted and now I love/am used to NIS2009.I also liked the color schemeHow fickle is that!haha
cheers Mo
Hooray for Symantec........Top-notch.
Love the program & love you all.
Keep up the good work........
Thank you
