Set up App and Internet Security on tablet

Recently purchase new ACER tablet, Model ACTAB1024 running Android 13.

Have installed Norton 360.

On opening the App, the ‘Security’ field shows ‘Attention Required.’

Tapping on that brings up a screen that states ‘App Security Setup required’ and ‘Internet Security Setup required.’ (Red triangles)

‘WI-FI Security,’ ‘Device Security,’ and ‘SMS Security’ are all shown as good. (Green circles).

Tapping on either ’App security Setup required’ or ‘Internet Security required’ opens a screen where ‘Set up’ selection is. Tapping on ‘Set up’ brings up a box in which the message ’Accessibility, Norton 360 requires accessibility permission to collect data about websites visited and apps viewed on Google Play’. Tapping ‘OK’ in this box brings up the tablet ‘Accessibility’ menu with a Norton 360 message of ’Find and tap on Norton 360 Service’.

There is nowhere in the ’Accessibility’ menu or sub menus that mentions Norton 360 or downloaded services or downloaded apps. I have searched every menu on the tablet and can not find a way to set up these two functions. I have two phones (Android 13) and Norton 360 is shown in ‘Accessibility’ menu ‘Downloaded apps’ and all 360 features are enabled.

Any ideas?

Other devices 2 X Android 13 Nokia phones, 1 X Android 11 Samsung tablet.

On phones Norton, 360 appears in >Accessibility >Downloaded apps and >Security and Privacy. On Tablet, Norton 360 appears in >Accessibility>Installed Services and >Security and Privacy.

Tried uninstall/restart/reinstall, problem still there.

Restored Tablet to factory settings. Set it up just enough to get online. Downloaded Norton 360 via my Norton account/Play Store. Problem still there. Carried on with Tablet set up. Allowed copy of data from Samsung Tablet to new Tablet (as I did on set up days ago). Norton 360 now (magically) all green, working perfectly.

On new Tablet Norton 360 is in >Privacy>Accessibility usage. Tapping 'Accessibility usage' reverts screen to the Accessibility menu but Norton 360 does not appear anywhere in 'Accessibility' or its sub menus.

Anyway, still confused about this but just pleased it's working OK.

Thank you peterweb for your time and input.

So it does not seem to be related to Android 13 itself, unless it is something specific to possible proprietary changes made by Acer to the OS.

What is the manufacturer(s) of the other two Android 13 devices?

Maybe try uninstalling 360, restart the device and then reinstall and see if 360 will show up in Accessibility.

I have tried Google support article suggested above. No luck with that. As per the article, Settings>Apps>Norton 360 there are no three dots (more) to select anything. The only options are 'Open,' 'Uninstall,' or 'Force Stop.'

Not sure where to go from here. I have Norton 360 installed on two Android 13 phones. On each, Norton 360 appears under 'Accessibility,' under 'Downloaded Apps'.

My tablet is stuck on Android 9, so there may be some changes in the Settings for Android 13.

By searching it appears that the Accessibility Settings are restricted on Android 13. Here is a Google support article on accessing these restricted settings.    https://support.google.com/android/answer/12623953?hl=en   Scroll down to the Allow restricted apps section.  It appears they have been moved to the Settings > Apps.

Installed Services does not appear in Accessibility menu or any of its sub menus.

Entering ‘Installed Services’ in ‘Search settings’ brings up ‘No results.’

Entering ‘Downloaded apps’ in ‘Search settings’ takes me back to ‘Accessibility menu’. Downloaded apps does not appear here or in any sub menu.

In Android Settings > Accessibility, look for Installed Services. Norton should be listed there.
