Could you tell us version of Norton you're running? And what your system is?

Plus tell us please the email client you use also.

And what ports you have to use to get and send your messages. Norton Antispam can only protect standard SMTP and POP-3 protocols at the moment.

I'm currently useing norton 360 4.0 and I'm useing AT&T Mail which is powerd by yahoo mail but I'm not sure which ports I'm useing for this e-mail account. How do I figure out which ports I'm useing?

You'll want to go to your email program and find "account settings" or anything similar to this. Once there, you'll want to look for SMTP port which will be followed by a number, like 465, and POP3 port which will be followed by a number, like 995. If you don't see these options to get the port settings, you may first have to click on something that resembles "use encrypted connection."

The numbers after SMTP and POP3 are the ports you are using.

If you still have trouble locating them, let us know.

Is this a browser-based service like Yahoo! Mail? /you login to your mails in your webbrpwser program/

Or do you use an email-client program, like Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, to read them?

I have to go onto a website to access it. Like Hotmail or Gmail.

Then Norton Antispam will not function for you. It only works when you download your mails into Email clients, like Outlook amd Thunderbird.

What I ment to say is yes it is browerser based.

Sorry, Norton Antispam does not function for browser based mail, not for Gmail, not for Hotmail, not for Yahoo etc. etc..

As said before it only works with emailclients like Outlook and Thunderbird, and then only on ports 25 & 110..

If you want to check with Antispam, then you must look if AT&T has a possiblility to download mail to an emailclient on your computer with POP and SMTP. Hotmail, for instance, allows you to use POP.

But...i suppose AT&T has made some provisions in it's webmailclient to check for viruses or to prevent unwanted attachments to execute/download.

BTW : when you download an attachment to your computer, Norton Antivirus will check it anyway.
