Setup of Custom Scan

An option in the scanning section allows for a selection  for a Custom Scan.  It does not allow for customer intervention to select what should be covered under this Custom Scan.  In the Norton 360 there are no options, like in prior versions, to select what will and what will not be scanned.  There does not appear for customer to allow to eliminate those items that are a "False Positive".  It appears also, it is Norton's way and no adjustments by the customer.

Is there an area that I missed that would allow for customer to  provide custom input??

Just a bit more info if you are only interested in Scanning one folder at a time or one file at a time:

Right Click the folder of your choice (in this case I used NPE), hover over Norton 360 ad finally select Scan Now.

Norton scan folder.PNGIf you are interested in scanning a file - same procedure only select the File:

Norton scan file.PNGIn both cases, a scan should run and the results will be displayed.

Thanks for letting us know all is good again!

Great! this detail solves the problem.  Thanks for the reply

Great response that solves the question. Thanks for the information

Thanks for the reply again, but did not see where I can make the scan custom by eliminate certain files or folders.  Nothing to allow for the user to add or subtract a file, folder, or drive as it was in Norton Security.

I found the opening but is there a place for the customer to make changes where or what not to scan?

@cyclone3211

The Scan Items to scan functions by selecting items - not by exclusion - they are not included if you do not select them.

Please try to follow my instructions:

Select the New Scan to get to the following page.  Once there, select add Folders,  Scan Folders will pop up, place a X in the block in front of your selected folder and then select ADD.

After adding it, you should see it listed as an item to scan.

In order to add a File, select Add Files, select the Folder the File is located in and then select the File.  Select ADD

As shown below, the NPE folder and NPET File have been added to the Custom Scan

Selecting any of the Scan Items in the list, should provide a RED Remove option and that item can be deleted.

Delete from scan.PNG

scan everything under close inspection so you have a better chance of finding malware

Um, so this page does not appear or does not work for you.

Oh....eliminate.  You mean exclude certain files or folders.  Hmm, I've not used Custom with Norton Security nor Norton 360.   Sorry, seems like "Add" would be used to create a New Scan Schedule.

Sorry, I don't recall custom Norton scans with Norton Security.

Create your own custom Norton scans
While the default Norton automated scan settings work well for most users, some users may want to customize options to scan specific drives, folders, or files on a schedule that they choose.

I'm probably not understanding how you used Custom Scan with Norton Security.

Lets hear from Community
Thanks

I didn't see that in Norton 360 Deluxe.  Are those pictures of that version or something different?
