I'm trying to verify ownership of my site to dispute the security issues reported, but have not been able to successfully verify even though the meta tag is in the head and the html file is uploaded in the correct location.
When I click "Verify Now" I get the message "Did you place the meta tag in your website homepage? Click Ok to continue. If you have problem placing meta tag in your homepage, click here"
I intended to use the file upload method but it gives me this message anyway.
If I choose OK I get the message: "Verification Failed. We are not able to verify your site ownership. To complete the site ownership verification process, click "Cancel" and follow the instructions to upload an HTML verification file to your site. Alternatively you may select another method of verification. If you are not able to verify your site, click "Submit Feedback" and one of our support agents will assist you."
I submitted feedback a couple of times but haven't heard back. Any advice on this? URL is below.
If you check your source code, you will see that the tag became transposed. Content is at the beginning and name is at the end.
It should appear like this:
<meta name="norton-safeweb-site-verification" content="ab01234cde....(your unique 128 character code)"/>
However, the 128 character authentication code itself looks good and I will notify the Safe Web team of your issue. Please allow them a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
In the mean time, could you double check that the URL you submitted to Safe Web exactly matches your website address, letter for letter?

Your site ownership has been manually verified and your site 'http://www.mojavetansarasota.com/' has been submitted for analysis. Note that the initial evaluation process may take up to two weeks to complete.
Since you have included the html file in your post, I will submit it to the Safe Web Team. Please stay tuned to this thread for a response from the Safe Web Team late on Monday night.
As I have said before, I have been trying since yesterday in getting the Nporton green rating with no luck. I have been following the instructions several times and nothing. I an asking Norton support to do it manually, please
I will notify the Safe Web Team about your issue. They will manually verify and evaluate your website. Please stay tuned to this thread for a response back from the Safe Web Team late on Monday night. EDT.
Here's the link to the HTML file: http:// swfmia . com/nortonsw_8a7a0110-1eb0-0.html
And here's what actually shows in the browser when you go to that page: f6-4682w8vlxxixk85jjkkssvy5jvz5bejp95428hes0jd4anx4hrvfvzq1wl80gvitcpquqkcz-pp62bq7oedrfpf4r2gxyjhx76u5be--h39rdfu38tr1-g503gw-n
There are some issues with the verification process. Could you please post your HTML code in your next post? I can then notify the Safe Web Team and have them manually verify and manually evaluate your website. If you have not cleaned up your website, then please do so. Awaiting to hear back from you.
