Smart Firewall/Insight protection automatically disabled

Hello there, hope this is the right place to ask. I am running Norton Internet Security 2011, and recently, the Smart Firewall and Insight protection options have always been disabled upon startup. I can turn the Firewall back on, but if I turn Insight on, it doesn't seem to do anything and turns itself off if I close then re-open NIS. Norton constantly tells me that I need to run a quick fix scan, but even after the scan completes, it says I still haven't completed the scan and it still wants me to do it. Full system scans also found nothing but a few cookies. I can't seem to reinstall it with the CD, since it seems to close itself after it initializes. After downloading the NIS downloader, I get an error saying that it can't complete the installation. I also can't access my stored logins either. I am running FireFox 4.0, and I've been using NoScript constantly. I was worried that a virus somehow broke part of my Norton product, but I doubt it as I haven't had any other trouble using my computer. Any help would be appreciated!
