Yes I am a admin on the laptops … the net work is public however there appears to be a private network accessing these machines. I can’t edit the rules to tun off or on. I have reason to believe there is a hack on going.
hopefully I am just being stupid.
If I reset the firewall it restores to the same status. There are 3 rules (private or public) available for edit the rest have no edit available.
the network is set to public users are only on the guest network this is stopping them from setting up shares etc… the guest network is not ideal but at least slows them down. I believe they are using the private network to access our laptops. I have in the past set the network to private and could see 2 additional private networks attached to the laptops. I also have evidence that they are broadcasting the same SSID on the same frequency’s. I have turned my router off to find the SSID still being broadcast.
I am not able to attach images etc… but I have the the most recent version of Norton 360 available on window 11 pro laptops and mobile devices.
Thank you for your suggestions but I have done all so far suggested already and nothing has improved the situation.
After removing malware from the mobile devices and laptops. The hackers started using the private networks. We use virgin media as the isp who will only swap out the router which delays the hackers by 1 hour before they are back in business.
The hackers can see every key stroke or at least every submission so all accounts have to be assumed to be compromised.
I have informed the police …,
I was hoping that one of the community would know how to remove the lock on the firewall as I have done all I know how to.
