Smart Scan missing after reinstall norton 360

My Smart Scan is missing after after a Norton 360 reinstall due to error.  Norton 360 wouldn't start and suggested reinstall of the product.

How do I get my smart scan back?

Thanks, I am not sure how or why (but I am thankful) My Smart Scan is back. I don't know what brought it back but I just logged on and brought up my norton Interface and it was there. Maybe it was the continous running of updates I did the past 2 days?

So uninstall Norton 360 completely (remove programs I assume) then use that cspn360 to reinstall?

The provided link is offline installer which means complete setup file of size nearly 225MB, and the version you get is 22.23.5.106 that is the latest one.

Thanks,  I wonder if there is a way to check to see if there is more than one version floating around and just get rid of it?

Yes, I ran live update a few times at this point nothing to update.  I restarted PC still no smart scan seen.

Had same issue about 12 months ago with Smart Scan & Messages missing, version number was correct but actual reinstall etc installed a few versions prior to current version. Reinstalled - still missing. Downloaded, removed device from account, fully removed Norton from computer, fresh instal, still missing. Went thru' same same procedure BUT 'Install on New Device' from account and it all worked OK again, seemed to be more than one version of specific version number floating around in system.

Norton 360 Offline Installer may help you in this.

But before kindly uninstall completely including saved settings.

Have you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available? Then restart again. Restarting, not shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled.   If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature..
