It appears I have the "Snap-do" virus which hijacks your browser home page. Norton360 does not seem to handle this virus. Anybody have a solution? Thanks - Bill
Go here and create a thread on the protected malware board and I will deal with your system.

Welcome Bill,
One suggestion is in place. If you would rather consider other possibilities there are
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com
http://forums.whatthetech.com/
http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/
http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/
these free sites which are staffed by trained volunteers who can also walk you through the clean up process
Keep us posted
The thing to consider is that Quads is a live breathing body offering to help as opposed to lining up in queue at the other forums.
Classy, Dick. Really classy.
cwhowell2:
All of the forums listed here are unrelated to Norton. The only person previously doing safe removals here was Quads.
Guess I'm a bit cautious. Quads suggested I download a program so I asked for his credentials. His reply was "ha ha ha". Not exactly a confidence building reply. - Bill
Hi, cwhowell2. Your comment is noted. Without taking sides here, Dick has given you a choice. It's your call.
See delphinium's own post here.

All specialists are half crazy, cwhowell. Non of the removalists have credentials per se, they just spend every waking moment playing with malware, infecting their own machines, and figuring out ways of fixing the issue without wrecking the system.
Quads has spent several years on this forum removing malware from user's machines. There is just not a way to do it safely on an open forum and he won't do it here any more. I suggest that you check out each of the links, look at a few of the malware threads, and see how they operate. Then pick one.
The thing is to solve the problem with your machine rather than us betting on our favourite horses.
delphie, you're right about the crazy bit.
I had a fellow with six different degrees ask me how to go about buying a car. Go figure!!
We all have our special talents, or so I'm told.......

How totally intriguing, tell me more.
By that, I meant areas of expertise !......
LOL So was I.
Thanks everybody. I found the problem. A program caled "Quick-Link" or something like that. It was installed just 5 days ago (not intentionally) and when I removed it, the issue has gone away. There was a similar home page hijack on my wife's PC calls "AVG". That too has been removed. Sorry I was suspicious about the help here. Hope I didn;t offend anyone. Regards - Bill
