Software Updater & Windows 11 Problem

Just upgraded my Windows 10 to 11 (23h2 Build:22631.3880) and ran Software Updater on Norton 360. Program ran updates (and blanked all background program display). When finished it left me only a message box with 2 choices (since a couple of the updates required restart) - "Restart" and "Finish".

I did not want to restart for the Zoom update just then, as I had been working on another task, so I selected "Finish". Updater disappeared leaving me with a totally blank screen which would not let me do anything. I right clicked. Only choices were "maximize" "minimize" and  "close". None had any results. Mouse clicking elsewhere had no effects and the task bar had disappeared too, so no luck there either.

Keyboard was still active so I did a <ctl>+<alt>+<del> (yes, that still works some) to get a screen which allowed me to log out of windows. Did a restart from the resulting login screen and things seemed OK.

Not a good thing...

I'm just reporting this for Norton to figure out what happened. Don't need an answer as I now know how to get out of it if it happens again.

Have a better one, Jim

Glad to hear you avoided what many others were not so fortunate with regarding Software Updater. DON'T use it, period!! Trust your OEM manufacturer and Microsoft to deliver software updates, always. SU has rendered many computer not usable and/or having to restore to another date/time prior to using SU. Some even have had to reinstall Windows.
