SONAR quarantined my Sims 3 launcher

I was downloading a new patch for the game when all of a sudden SONAR pops up and says the game launcher was doing something suspicious and quarantined it. How do I stop it from doing that?

I'm having the exact same problem. And denish I did the second option but the first oneg sin is rather vague on where I change the internet settings since both sets of instructions are eactly the same but I'm not seeing what you say I'm supposed to be seeing. How about clearing it up a little more?

Hi Hydrasis,

Hello and welcom to Norton. Can you let me know the Norton version that you use so that i give the exact steps to follow.

Norton 360. I already fixed the setting in it but I haven;t fixed the internet one yet and hoping you have more detailed instruction on how to do so

Hi hydrasis,

It seems that you are confused. I gave it as two different steps since the first one is a different Norton Product called Norton Intrenet Security and second is for the Norton 360. If you you have Norton 360 then only step two is applicable to you.

Oh *face palms* Well sadly it did not work in the slightest. Now I have it telling me that the launcher is taking up one cpu and the fugged thing isn't even up. On top of that my task manager's processes tap is going nuts with simslaunchers popping up and down like over active wack a moles.

Hi hydrasis,

The first issue that you said is that the Norton Performance Monitoring stating that the particular file is taking a lot of system performance. You can ignore that and the second issue you said is different. The Process Tab in Taskmanager migit have been sorted by CPU Usage or Memory Usage that will make the application to move up and down the list.

If you think that Norton might be preventing the file from launching. Try to disable the Norton Firewall and see if that fixes the problem.

To disable the Norton firewall right click on the Norton icon on the right hand bottom Corner and click on disable Norton Smart firewall. Select the option 15 minutes in the drop down menu that comes up. Then try to launch the software again.

Please let us know if these steps worked.

Can you please post a screenshot showing the conviction?

Nope does not help and is just showing the launcher hopping around the processes tab again ( last time it did that I had to restart my comp ) KIt's the Sonar thing in norton that;s disabling it. If I can't be told how to fix it I might as well just remove the program and get a different antivirus.

Edit: To Carlos I would but I have yet to see the message that appeared at the bottom to show up again making the possibility of a screen shot a bit impossible.

SIMs forums proved more useful. Had to go to tasks>sonar activity>options>restore file.
