All these addons browser are optional meaning you can disable it any time. go to settings / extentions and disable it.
Restart browser and recheck your issue.

I don't think this giant corporation gives a flying flip what their users think. ALL their board members consider is what is the bottom line, like all big corporations. All the spam upsales that pop up makes this program look like a free app you find on Google Play. They at least could have an option to stop their IRRITATING pop ups. If I want an upgrade I am perfectly capable of going to their website and finding it.
