I have been having problems with Windows 8.1 loading correctly for awhile. The cloud and windows Live Mail would not log. I would get a prompt that it hadn't loaded correctly and state I could check the system error logs. Had no ideal of how to do that. I would run a full system check every time I would start the computer and it seemed after multiple scans Windows will load correctly for awhile. 2 days ago, I started the computer , entered my password and instead of going to desktop it went to a black screen and gave this message in fairly large letters in the the center of the screen "Hi We will get things ready for you". Then it went to my desktop, with black screen and small icons. I immediately shut down. I had to go to work and didn't restart for about 10 hours. I restarted and it loaded as usual and started a full scan. I got an error code 892,244 for the updates and was instructed to come to the community site. It told me to download an uninstall and reinstall program and that would fix the problem. It did fix the problem with Norton. I have ran several scans and not found anything. Windows is loading correctly for now. Does anyone know where that message came from or any ideas?????????????????????????? I was afraid that someone or something had taken control of the computer.
