Please confirm which version of Norton 360 it is -- Help & Support / About and then the N360 TAB (I'm in NIS at the moemnt so can't check).
Did you buy a specific 3 User copy or a single user copy? Did you download it from the Norton site or buy retail package?
You did get asked to enter the KEY when you installed and did so on both computers?
When you first installed did you set up a Norton Account which records the details including the KEY for both computers?
If so what happens when you just Open your Norton Account -- what does it say?
Lots of questions -- answers come later <s>
Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. One thing I like about 2012 is the CPU meter.
Using NIS 2012, it is the same on my end. Earlier today before noon, I had 252 days remaining. That was around 10:30 AM where I live. Clicking Support > Subscription Status after 12 noon, I had 251 days remaining.
I've become used to this. For me at least, it seems to be around 12 noon, give or take a couple of minutes when the count changes.

since automatic renewal was made at 12:00 h at me i espect that the change of day for subscription status to be the same for my Nis 2013
SendOfJive wrote:Hi Aviator327,
I think this is normal, and not unique to NIS 2012. I saw the same behavior in NIS 2011 where the days remaining would change in mid-day. It may be a repeating 24-hour countdown that starts when the product is activated, I don't know. But it is definitiely not synched to 12 midnight.
I think you may be right about the 24-hour countdown. Yesterday it changed between 0600-0645. This morning it changed at 0548.
A few days ago I removed NIS2011 and did a clean install of 2012 (12-19-12). I clicked on Support>Subscription status and it showed 355 days remaining. I normally get on my PC everyday around 0500 EST. Yesterday when I logged on and ran Live update I noticed that the days remaining still showed 355. sometime during the day the day remaining changed to 354 which was correct. I just cannot pinpoint the time that happened. Samething for yesterday and today when logging on. This morning when I logged on it showed 353 days.
I clicked my subscription status again, connected to the server and it showed 352 days which is correct. I just can't figure out why the days remaining are not subtracting with the start of a new day. When I was running 2011 I didn't have this problem.
btw, my system clock shows the correct date and time.
Markd1015 wrote:Well it is that time of year again. Your subscription is about to run out, RENEW NOW!!
My past experience is that if I RENEW NOW as NIS keeps telling me to that I will lose the
days left on my current subscription.
Is this still the case? If so Norton needs to either fix it so the days left
are added to the new subscription or NIS needs to warn people that adding a new
subscription will void the last days of your old subscription. It would be good
customer service to have the days added to your new subscription without having
to call Norton.
If you purchase a RENEWAL from Norton, your new subscription days, 366, will be added to your current remaining days.
If you purchase a new copy of your product, your new 366 days will start when you enter the product key into your product, and you will lose the remaining time.
Many here use the option to purchase a new product and save some money. You just have to know how the sysem works and enter the new key when you have only one or two days left to minimize any loss.
Do you have Automatic Renewal enabled? If so, then please see the following post for details:
- If the customer is not enrolled Automatic Renewal and he has days > 365, Subscription Status will be shown with link "Active" and customer will see the days remaining by clicking the Active link.
- If the customer is not enrolled in Automatic Renewal and he has days <= 365 days remaining, he will be shown the number of days with the Renewal link. Clicking that link will allow him to renew the subscription.
- If the customer IS enrolled in Automatic Renewal, only the "Active" link will be shown. This is an effort to reduce the clutter of information shown, and since the customer will be automatically renewed when the subscription approaches expiration, that expiration number is moot.
