SurfEasy suddenly rejected by Norton360

Norton360 suddenly classifies Open VPN as malware.  A query to SurfEasy brought this reply:      "Our apologies for any confusion caused: OpenVPN is the VPN protocol that our Windows VPN uses in order to connect. It's very strange to hear that Norton Security is classifying it as malware. Is there a way to create an exception or exclude it from your Firewall? I can assure you that it will not harm your computer and is used by SurfEasy in order to connect to our network."

I work my way around this problem by temporarily turning off the firewall, but this is time consuming and annoying. Can Norton database be modified to again accept OpenVPN?
