Suspicious.Cloud.5 False positive?

Hi there.

Just few hours ago i did full system scans on my rig. Surprisingly, its detected Suspicious.Cloud.5 on one of my old apps, CD Bank Cataloguer. I love this apps and always use it for archiving my CD and DVD content.

Got the apps installer directly from the official site a few years ago. And even NIS detected the installer itself as that virus. I'm shocked!

The try to download again from Softpedia.com, because the official site was gone few years ago. And still got that Suspicious.Cloud.5 on the installer. Just try on, its just 1 MB file download.

I did some reading on local antivirus forum on my country. They said it was because the packer on the installer? And because the Cloud Technology??

And maybe norton did some false positive on this one.

Please let me know if i'm wrong and waiting for others opinion here.

Thank you.

Big regards.

Hi,

If you think that NIS has labelled the files as false positives, then you can try submitting them to Symantec over here:

https://submit.symantec.com/dispute/false_positive/

You can also exclude the file from future scans. For more information, read (assuming you have the 2011 version):

Configuring scans in my Norton 2011 product to exclude specific drives, folders, or files

Hi Vineeth

Yes, i'll submit the file asap.

I'm using NIS 2010, not yet migrating to 2011.

Hi,

Here is the 2010 KB article to exclude scan:

If you have a valid subscription remaining for your Norton 2010 product, you are eligible for the free update to the latest 2011 version. Please let us know if you need instructions to update to the latest version.
