Suspicious email

All: Have any of you received the following e-mail stating: "We're looking for people to sit on our Board of Protectors"? I mean board of protectors? Really? Lol!!

email.PNGNote the *caption at the footer of the screenshot regarding points and Amazon gift card redemption, sounds like a fish to me. Message header information is below.

Cheers

i dont see a image so cant say for sure

i do know i have recieved various types of phishing emails ( paypay, mcafee, amazon, and others to name a few)

some invoice or order placed

if its a phishing email it would have signs of it being fraudulent

some come with a attachment for invoice or whatever

some will have a non company number to call or link to "verify" for example

just my theory on what you may be asking about

A first look at this indicates it is a scam trying to get you to call the number and give them your banking information so they can refund the payment. In fact, they would make a withdrawal from your account if you give them that information.

To be sure, check the sender's email address against this information.   Is this email from Norton legitimate?

That's OK PW.  cheeky

Thanks SOJ, The email address(s) aren't the context of what my post asks. But rather the content of the screenshot itself. Is this legit is the question being posed to Norton. I see no other mention here on the forums where others have received a message regarding these "surveys". Albeit a legit email system can be compromised I don't believe that to be the case here.

Cheers

norton@secure.norton.com is a legit Symantec / Norton email address.
