Norton 360 All-in-One Suite Combines Security With Remote Access to Online Files
New Applications for iPad, iPhone and Android Designed to Give Norton 360 and Norton Online Backup Users Access to their Files Anywhere
With cybercrime on the rise, an unprotected PC can become infected within four minutes of connecting to the Internet[1]. Computer users’ personal information and files are also at risk through data loss. In fact, Norton has found that one in three online adults has lost irreplaceable data on their PC[2]. To keep consumers protected, Symantec (Nasdaq: SYMC) has launched the latest version of Norton 360 that includes the latest security technology as well as remote access to securely backed up data. Norton 360 version 4.0 also delivers the industry’s best protection rates for Web-based attacks, including the latest social networking threats, with Norton scoring a 100 percent protection rate in recent third-party testing[3].
When I first read this I thought they were offering a version of N360 to install on iPad and the other devices like the netbook version of NIS but:
<< After downloading the free application of their choice from the iPhone App Store or the Android Market, consumers who have stored data online with Norton 360 or Norton Online Backup can access and share their documents, music, photos or videos directly from their device. Norton products and services help more than 11 million consumers stay connected with anytime, anywhere access to their online data. Now Norton 360 users who use online storage can access any of their files from a Web browser and either download it or email a link to friends and family >>
reads to me as if all you can do is access files from normal applications that N360 has stored on line ????
It sounds to me like at first it will be backup indeed. And maybe later the use of anti virus. But it will be a global platform for iPad, iPod and iPhone. I think
