I was disaponted to find out that Symantec now offers "Virus removal service" for $99. Isn't this what your software is supposed to do in the first place? The ever-increasing yearly subrcription apparently only buys you a green checkmark in the home screen, but when you actually have a problem that it 1) did not detect, 2) could not remove with their free eraser, they want to charge you for it. You would think that a reputable company, hell bent of research and improving their product would be more than eager to tackle a new problem and find a cure, but I guess not this one. I was faced with a customer service rep selling me a $130 option. It's like an insurance company telling you they only cover flu-shots when you need a hip replacement.
