The Norton Community Forum boards are globally annexed by what I refer to as the 'Coleman Charter' (Dave_Coleman).
Hi,
I just wanted to comment on what "elsewhere" mentions (above). I have been here at the Norton Forums for a while, and I have seen many users complain about many aspects of Symantec, some of which were quite Negative; while some companies will have removed those comments, here at the Norton Forums, these comments have remained, which Symantec deserves alot of respect and credit for leaving these comments in the Forums. It allows users to say what they feel, within Reason as Dave_Coleman noted, which may be why the Norton Community has flourished. This is just one aspect of Symantec which makes Symantec great!
I have put my comments in a different Thread as I felt my Comments were Off-Topic of the Thread-Starter where "elsewhere" made this point I am commenting on.
Free speech rules.
You will even find gurus saying what they think. That is the only way a company can produce the best product they can. If they are surrounded by 'Yes' people, we only get the ideas from a small group of developers and focus groups instead of the masses that actually use the products.
Indeed. But there are two ways of reporting things that you don't like about this: You can say I don't like this aspect of the product/Symantec because... [insert reason here]; and then there is the other side of that which users can be completely negative. So there are two ways of pointing out what you don't like: one being Negative-Positive and one being a Negative-Negative. I have also seen a few "Gurus" being Negative about some aspects of Symantec. I agree that Negative comments are needed, and are welcomed at the Norton Forums, to enhance the Norton Products which have been noticed within the last few Norton Products where users have suggested/commented on a Feature of Norton Product(s), which Symantec have responded to/included in the Norton Product in Next Year's Line or in a few years' Product Line. While the All-Positive comments do have a positive outcome such as bits being added/removed from Norton Products, Negative comments, in the end, do have a Positive outcome, hence why Symantec keep negative comments, which also shows that Symantec are listening to users. Kudos to Symantec and all the Staff!
