Hello
I frequently get the following error message when Windows 7 starts.
"Failed to connect to a Windows service. Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service"
From searching on Google I have found that a temporary fix is to restart in Safe Mode and then from the Command Prompt type
netsh winsock reset catalog
This cures the problem for a few weeks and then it recurs
Does anyone have a permanent fix please?

Welcome,
That sounds like a question for the Microsoft site and one of their forums
Keep us posted

Microsoft indicates this is an issue caused by background programs, especially security programs... and they need to update their software. Does Norton have an update?
