My wife allowed LiveUpdate to upgrade SystemWorks. When it was done, it brought up a dialog box, with a "finished" button. The moment she clicked on it, the computer bluescreened.
Now, when we turn the computer on, it can't boot: it gives the error message saying that there is no boot sector on the internal hard drive.
Is this a known issue? If so, is anything short of reinstalling the OS going to work?
(I tried going to the customer support link, but it's not working. I see an asterisk next to $9.95, but that's the only text anywhere on the page-- no directions, no explanations, nothing.)
You amy want to try booting into Safe Mode, and see if that makes a difference. If you still have your Norton SystemWorks key and download, you can save that to a disk and then remove the product. You may also want to try to use the Windows Recovery Console to help resolve this issue. Is there anything unusual about your system setup? The Operating System? The Norton SystemWorks version? Other security softeware installed? Any of this information might help to determine compatibility issues that exist. Thanks!
