Hi, I always get this alert in Security History when I turn on my computer.

Action: Open Thread
Reaction: Unauthorized access logged

Exactly. Other Antiviruses, such as Bitdefender, were easily disabled by removal of essential files and termination of processes.
It is not a new Faeture; this has always been in Norton, from N.I.S. 2007 and Later for sure.
It says: "Unauthorized access logged"; it does not Block it. Why, if it is "un-authorised", did it not Block it?

Good question. Maybe he configured Norton to notify, not block...

I get this, too, and have not touched the Settings; in fact, there are no Settings for this, except to turn it off or on.
Hello,
this is a new feature. There are many viruses trying to stop av-engines. The Tamper Protection is a "self check" which blocks other programs (which are not authorized)to access the av-engines.
