Scheduled tasks notification says “Cleaned 8.91MB of temporary files from Internet Explorer.” !
Since Internet Explorer no longer exists and is certainly not installed, I am finding this difficult to understand.
Does it have any sensible meaning?
ALSO : I was not aware that I had set up any scheduled tasks !
Has Norton set them up automatically ?
If so, how do I check what they are and make any changes I would prefer ?

Many thanks again bjm.
I failed to find a version number but I have found the performance settings hidden away in Device Security and “Open”.
Not very intuitive is it ?
Excellent detailed advice, thanks yet again.
I will have to wade thro’ all those settings now.
Guess I must have done so on my previous Win 10 laptop but I have absolutely no recollection !
Probably senility now I have turned 80 years old.
Well, I had a trawl thro’ all the settings and now I’ve got an extra blue logo in the corner of all my desktop document icons.
These extras are only on documents and only on the desktop - not on any files inside my folders.
I turned off Backup Status Overlays, but I have no idea what that means !
That made no difference.
So I turned off backup completely, although I didn’t know it was on !
The blue squares with 2 white chevrons on some of my desktop icons have now changed to green squares with a white tick on all but one of them.
Also I discovered Norton Backup Drive in MyPC which I cannot delete !
It contains 3 items from my desktop - 2 folders and one of the ticked icons.
I do not want Norton to backup anything - I have other regimes doing that.
How do I stop it and get rid of the backup drive ?
same thing happened to me. I don’t use Internet Explorer and haven’t for years. I use FireFox. I also didn’t set up any automatic tasks. Now I am getting a Norton Community Summary email that I didn’t ask for. Seems like alot of software today just does stuff on its own without asking for permission.
