I'm trying to test Norton Security 2015 on my system but for the life of me cannot figure out how to tell the firewall component to let me know when a piece of software is trying to access the internet. After I've installed a firewall and have put it through its paces to ensure it plays nice with my machine, I will usually just let it go into "auto" and trust it to decide which programs it trusts. However, since I'm evaluating NS 2015 right now I'd like to force a few messages. For example, if I want to do a simple access message test, I should be able to remove Chrome (chrome.exe) from program control and for at least the first time I start Chrome the firewall should send me a pop-up telling me it trying to connect out. Of course, after the test I will let Norton do the trusting, but I'd like to at least force one access message. When I remove Chrome from the Program Control module and start it, Norton does nothing.
I'm sure something else needs to be done here so I can temporarily get these access messages to test it out, but I can't figure how. Can someone inform me of what I can to do execute this test and force a message?
Thank you
Jim
