Hi,

Issue abstract: The new Firefox extension “Norton VPN - Fast & Secure” does not detect Norton 360.

Detailed description : The extension shows the following error message “VPN not installed” and links to the following support page : Message: “VPN not installed” appears on Norton VPN extension

Product & version number: Norton 360 Advanced V25.4.10068.0

OS details : Windows 11 family 24H2

What is the error message you are seeing? VPN not installed

Is this normal ?
Is this temporary, part of a gradual rollout ?
Is the VPN built into Norton 360 intended to become a degraded, very limited, option-less, and poorly configurable VPN, with the aim of making us also buy Norton VPN ?

Update: It appears that it is not possible to have a Norton 360 subscription and a Norton VPN subscription on the same customer account at the same time ! : Error message when trying to download the trial version: “It appears you already have a subscription with us. Contact Customer Service and Support for other purchasing or upgrade options.”

I found something similar when I tried to install the standalone Norton Secure VPN Windows app alongside 360. The older versions of VPN would install. But the newer V25 VPN version will not install if you have 360 installed. Gayathri confirmed with the VPN team that this is by design to avoid possible conflicts between the two VPNs.

Incompatible, so one or the other. And I hope with the same ambition for quality and service for customers. I hope this also confirms that the new Firefox extension “Norton VPN - Fast & Secure” will soon be compatible with Norton 360 VPN!..
