So for years I have enjoyed the Norton 360 Gamers experience but a few days ago an update dropped that added in ap ads and a tile for a store…. no probs right no this is not what I paid for and i paid to be provided with the service i paid for not to have my protection to be used as a way to feed me scam lies to try and upsell to a product , I mean it makes me think of the mid 2000s and that share ware you got on the demo discs on PC magazines that would help a little and say x number of issues found so buy full version to resolve.
The following image is from the main ap page…..
Notice how it states 3 outdated drivers found…… ALL MY DRIVERS ARE UPTO DATE and when when you click to see scan results to clearly see it stats no driver issues found but also states “ issues found “ even thoug there is no issue to you know scare you…….Then the so called 12465 issues …. what issues exactly because when i click on it there is no where close to 12465 issues…..
@Equinox187 Unfortunately, this has been presented to Norton on more than one occasion. It is marketing as you and I both know, it is not going to go away because it is baked into every Norton suite for marketing. Personally I just ignore this trash entirely from the store and other areas where sell ups are derived from. The only way to be rid of it is not using Norton products at all. Personally I am choosing not to take that route and allow it to sink in at Norton just how serious the issue actually is and act on it.

Marketing is one thing ….scam selling is an entirely deferent thing, marketing is legal where as lying to scam people into parting with money is not. my Norton is telling me i have out dated driver and to, pay up to fix it which i do not and even when pressed Norton straits there is no issue and as evidence is the following not8ice how it shows no issue yet also states issues found and this was after i clicked on the 3 out dated drivers found …… marketing and scamming are 2 very different things
Agreed. The point I was making is there isn’t anything we here can do to prevent the issue from happening. The forums are full of posts regarding scare tactics, my secondary point was that marketing is the source, its baked into the products. Here is a screenshot of the nag settings embedded. Do a search in the Norton UI and use the word NAG, use My License Data and click view, this should appear.
