Dear Symentec,
This is possible to have 2 forum account with the same email address. ie :- with different passwords and login ids.
The reason I am asking this is because my 80 years old dad does not have an email account and even if he created one, he will let it expired and therefore the email account will be closed. He is now sharing an email account with me.
I recently gotten a notebook and have installed NIS2010 into his computer.
He is not tech savvy and is still new to NIS, I tried my best to guide him to use NIS but he does visit Norton forum fairly often and would love to post and read threads to gain more knowledge on it.
My dad wants to post and he has created an account in this forum but was "deleted" and now he cannot post. I was PM by a Symentec personnel about this matter and I informed that I want to retain that particular login name however, some how it was "deleted". Naturally, my dad was rather upset.
I understand that there are rules and regulations in this forum but are there ways that my dad can use my email address and create an account for himself which he can post.
Truely greatful if he can do that.
Thank you

Can you open a free GMAIL account for your father for the purpose of registration? He would not have to do anything else with it.
Also many ISPs provide for a number of sub-accounts which would allow you to set up an an additional email address different than the one you are using at no additional charge.

Thank you for your post. I assumed that after some inactivities on the GMAIL, it will be closed.
Anyways, I will create another email account on behalf of my dad and use it to create a login. Just that I do need to make sure that the email address will be used.
But I personnally think that users should be able to use at least 2 logins with the same email address....really convenient for folks like my dad.
What if, the email account is closed, will that effect the logins for Norton forum?
Thank you

Not for where I live......sub accounts require additional charges....which i am unwilling to pay.
Thank you

Mine gives me 8. How about an alias? Does your ISP let you set up a different, second, address for your account for the purpose of receiving messages in the account without divulging your real address to people you may not totally trust?

You are so lucky. I do not think my ISP is so generous.
Anyway, I will create another email address for my dad and hopefully, I will be able to keep track of things for him.
Thank you
If it helps, I opened a GMAIL account for my younger son. It only gets used once or twice a year, and it is ususally by me to see what he hasn't bothered to check.
