This Network is Compromised - but is it?

Issue abstract:

Detailed description: In the last couple weeks I have been receiving the subject popup message repeatedly, even though I tell it to ignore each time. And I have my doubts that the network really is compromised. How do I determine the cause of this message, what action to take, or make it stop appearing via a setting from within the app? If I can’t resolve this, I’ll likely uninstall 360.

Product & version number: Norton 360 Standard

OS details: Windows 10 Home

What is the error message you are seeing? This Network is Compromised pop-up

If you have any supporting screenshots, please add them:

Is this your home network and how are you connected to it?

Yes, home network, connected via wifi, Comcast/xFinity router, for nearly 4 years. No issues previously, Norton 360 the whole time. Thanks.

Can you think of any changes to your system or software around the time of the messages starting?

I know of no system or software changes for quite a long time on this PC. xFinity router “Advanced Security” is active and blocking a few intrusions regularly. Thanks.

That might be what Norton is detecting. As a test, try disabling the Advanced Security in the router and see if you still get that compromised message.

I’ll look into that. Advanced Security has been active and blocking intrusions for the same 4 years without any Norton 360 Network Compromised popups, Why doesn’t Norton remember when it is told to trust this network?

The new Norton versions have introduced many odd behaviours, probably linked to code changes they felt would give us better protection. So 360 may detect more things than it used to.
