Time taken for full scan

I'm on NIS version 18.7.0.13 (Liveupdate this morning did not import version 19.6.1) and have just completed a full scan. Some 455,000 items were scanned and this took 5 hours and 51 minutes - the longest yet. Does this seem correct, to take so long ?

Prior to the scan I logged off the internet and had no other programs running.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Baz.

The upgrade to 19.6.1 would only happen when you go to Support-New Version Check and follow the instructions.

The scan time can depend on many things:How long since last full scan, speed of computer, whether the scan found anything. Did the scan find anything?

Hello BazzaS,

I am running NIS 2012 version 19.6.1.8 on a W7 64-bit OS, Intel Core i7 X980, 3.33Ghz. A recent Full System Scan of 444,899 files took 29 minutes & :58 seconds, which is an improvement over earlier versions of NIS 2012.

In addition to peterweb's intructions above for checking for any New Version, you should also be able to right click on the NIS Icon in the system tray, and at the very bottom of the list of options is "Check for New Version". Left clicking on that option should guide you through what's needed for a version upgrade.

However, the link below is about other subscribers who've had trouble upgrading to version 19.6.1.8:
