Time to leave Norton

Issue abstract: Norton is too intrusive with adverts and slows down older computers

Detailed description: i’ve been using Norton AV products for more than 25 years on my PC and laptop. But in the last few years I have been bombarded with PC health reports I didn’t ask for, which are merely an attempt to mislead and scare me into buying Nortron’s utility/health additions. On my older but still servicable laptop (it can run W11 quite happily), there is in addition a considerable amount of slow down, at least during boot. I shall uninstall it there now, and not replace it on my PC when my subscription runs out.

@dmart777 while you seem to suffer mainly a performance impact to your system, I and others are suffering a myriad of dysfunction impacts to our operating systems. I have lost the use of Screen Mirror to my TV, clearly a norton problem as Screen Cast works when I turn off the norton firewall. norton could care less, and asks that I please wait quietly while they instead apparently concentrate on various annoying upsell marketing pop-ups.

Not the norton of my past decades of satisfied use. Like you, I have decided it is time to leave norton.
