Example. Just for better demonstration.
I have two products: Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 (1) an NIS 2010 (2).
They are not received Updates for a 7 days.
I am downloading the Intelligent Updater (from http://www.symantec.com/business/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=n95) which is assigned for both products (same file). After that I am waiting for a 2 days.
At last I am executing it on machines with (1) and (2) products. After the successful update session is complete I see:
(1) tell me that the Last Virus Definitions Update time was 2 days ago (it is good - it is the date of virus database build) and (2) tell me that the Last Virus Definitions Update time is 0 second, 1 second, 2 seconds.... ago.
Please fix the erroneous algorithms which Norton have: move away from date of Processing of Updates (date of the Update Procedure), to date of the real Updates build is.
