even though i have NIS set to askme on tracking cookies it never finds any and that doesn't make sense..sometimes it would find as many as 80 every scan and the last month zero...doesn't sound right to me?

If you have the "Do not track me" box checked, that will eliminate many tracking cookies. See my post from yesterday for everything I know about Firefox and tracking cookies:

Does a manual Quick Scan (Scan Now | Quick Scan) detect any tracking cookies? The Idle Quick Scans that run daily in the background during system idles do not look for tracking cookies, so if your Idle Full System Scan hasn't run in the last month (check the Last Run date at Performance | Norton Tasks) then it may have been a while since your system was checked for tracking cookies.
