Am I able to transfer my current Norton subscription to a new computer? My c urrent c omputer will be recyled.
Hi mrsmw,
I doubt there is anything we can do for you on the forum but it is possible that if you contact the Norton Chat line and give them details of the buyer they may (just) be able to help you.
You should be able to contact them on:
Good luck.
Thanks for that I will give it a try.

Can the person buying my laptop take over the subscription or do I have to cancel and they then take out their own subscription if needed. I will not need it on my new computer as it comes with a years subscription as part of the package
I would cancel the subscription using the Norton OnLine Customer Support via the Chat service as below because if you leave it he will be using your email address and password to log into the MyNortonAccount. By cancelling this and uninstalling the Norton 360 you can then use the same MyNortonAccount for your new computer since you will want to log that in and probably don't want to change email addresses etc.
Also, although there's no guarantee of this, it would do no harm to ask the Support team if there is any way they can add the days you paid for previously to the days you get for free with the new computer? Does the new computer come with Norton 360 or a different version of Norton security?
To contact customer support Click on this link and work on from there. You may have to scroll down a little to see the CHAT button.
Feedback from users tells us that CHAT is by far the best at resolving problems.
Note that that link is to the USA/CAN website so if you are located elsewhere I'm sure you will be able to find the equivalent location on your local Symantec website; some pages have a link at the top right where you can select the country you are located in.
Please let us know how you get on ....
Hi there,
I'm having a problem with transferring my subscription too. I had Norton antivirus on my laptop which was stolen earlier in the year. The subscription was automatically renewed and I have subsequently bought a new laptop. As I can't uninstall the software on my old laptop, how can I transfer the subscription to my current machine?
Thanks,
Zoe

Do what is suggested in

above, whether you can uninstall or not.
Did you let the laptop manufacturer know about the stolen laptop? With some makes they will make a record of this and if it comes in for service it is flagged as stolen .....
