Transfering registeration to new computer

I am changing computers. If I uninstall from present computers with NRT then will the intsalled count in My Norton Account decrease automatically or I have to go through another procedure.

I want to install the license I remove from old computers and install in new computers. I have 3 licenses. Please let me know.

That was not the perfect answer. Anybody at Symantec give a proper and perfect answer. And I am in India.

Actually, that was the correct and perfect answer.

The Customer Support staff are the only ones who can assist you with this issue.  I recommend following the advice provided by mdturner.

As Phil_D said, mdturner is right; we cannot assist you in the forums since we do not have the tools Customer Support agents have in order to sort out subscription issues. They should be able to help you quite quickly.

Then Symantec has to seriously think of a solution, in such a way, so that we can do that online but securely and legaly so that we cannot use more licenses than alloted.

Contacting Symantec Customer Support is a Disaster.

I had a previous experience regarding that.

I had to solve problems in Symantec products personally even after contacting Support.

Hi MehulBhai

When you reinstall onto your new computers and use your current activation key you will, in all likelihood, receive a message that you have exceeded your allowed number of activations for that susbscription key. The only people who can resolve that for you are in Customer Support and they will correct the problem for you very quickly.

No, I am still not satisfied. Does not Symantec think that there should be button like "UNSUBSCRIBE" or "UNREGISTER"  or somthing like that, as they have for Subscription Registration, in Norton Products including N360V4 so that users themselves can do that themself. This can be implemented in a secure way as in the time of subscription.

It can be done. Is Symantec Employees listening.

Hi MehulBhai

I understand what you are saying and that seems like something you should post as an idea in the Norton Ideas forum for Symantec to consider implementing in future upgrades.

Currently, however, there is no option such as this in Norton products and the fastest way to get your present issue fully resolved is to contact Customer Support as we, in the forums, have no way of addressing/correcting subscription issues..

If there is such an option to Unsubscribe or Unregister, there are chances that people may misuse this option. I think that is the reason why Symantec does not provide such an option. Still, you can post your suggestion on the Norton product ideas board.

If you are awaiting for a response from Symantec, you can read the following Knowledge Base document:

Error: "You have exceeded the allowable number of installs" when I activate my Norton 2010 product

And this is what the Gurus have suggested to you.

After all, this discussion comes in to picture only when you receive this error during activation. So I suggest you to install the Norton product first. If you receive the error message, contact Customer Support.

Hello MehulBhai

Perhaps you will feel more comfortable contacting customer support in India. If you look on this page, you will see different options listed. Perhaps clicking on one of those options will help you out. At the present time, live chat is the best option.
