Hello:
I hope someone can help me. During the last few days, Norton has alerted me a number of times that it has blocked Trojan.Gen.2 and has quarantined W32.Xpiro.D. The recommended action says that it is resolved, but I keep getting these same alerts a while later. Also, right after Norton's alert, a pop-up appears saying it's an update to Adobe Flash Player and wanting to install something. I do not download that because it seems to be associated with the viruses but it's hard to get rid of because you can't cancel it, you have to restart the computer to get rid of it.
I've done a full scan several times but Norton doesn't find anything. I tried downloading and scanning with the Norton Power Eraser but it only came up with a few "unknown" files that it didn't recommend deleting. I also noticed there were a few Windows security updates that I hadn't installed, so I downloaded those but it doesn't prevent the Norton alerts from coming back.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium. Is there something nasty hidden on my computer that keeps regenerating? Or is there another reason those viruses are drawn to my computer? Though I would greatly appreciate the feedback of any experts, I only have a very basic understanding of computers so the simpler the explanation, the better! :)
Thanks very much!

Welcome Janette,
It does sound like you have been infected by some type of 'nasty'. My recommendation would be to go to one of the sites listed below and lget the expert, free help they offer. Please do not try to remove whatever it is yourself. You could make things worse.
