For anyone looking for help with removing a TROJAN I would highly recommend contacting Norton. I use Norton security software but somehow a Trojan Virus alert popped up. It said the TROJAN was stopped by Norton but my computer ran slow and crashed many times. I went into safe mode and did a complete scan which did NOT remove the Trojan. I also used the Norton NPE which showed everything was okay. Next I rebooted in safe mode, with networking and contacted Norton support via the on line chat. Norton was outstanding, they asked for my approval, which I granted, to take over my computer control to run a Trojan removal tool. They ran the tool, removed the Trojan, ran the NPE again just to be sure, deleted all the "junk files", then cleaned up everything which was not needed. They spent at least 2.5 hours scanning, removing and repairing which was free because I have my virus protection through Comcast. Norton claimed the virus protection software did its job by stopping the Trojan but they needed to use the Trojan removal tool to get rid of it.
I have used computers ever since I had a refrigerator size 8MB computer for work in the 70s, which used a card reader and printed out the information on paper. I am very careful, run virus protection 24/7, do not download any files sent to me, never go into any sites I don't know but I sill had a Trojan attack which tells me it can happen to anyone anywhere. I am posting this so maybe it will help someone else in this same situation.
