do you have your autoprotect turned on in nortons? what version of norton are you using and is it nis or nav? do you have all of your windows updates?

I have a mac, but I wanted to send instructions to the rest of the recipients as well as the sender.

It´s a pretty well known way to infect social network users

Hi sepandee,

You were wise to not click the suspicious link; you avoided what may have been the classic trap.

It would be good to warn your friends and also refer them to this Symantec page which contains a CBS video demonstrating how clicking on a link in Facebook (or other social networking sites) can expose one to an instant infection.

you should tell your friends to download norton!! and protect themselves with the best software. :smileyvery-happy:

other than that, I would tell facebook about the message you received. theres more than likely a link on the message to send it to facebook.
