Trying to Remove Norton Crypto

When I go here, it says I cannot do it because it requires admin rights, but I am the only user and I am the admin.

C:\Program Files\Norton Security\Engine\22.21.6.53 Delete NCrypt.exe from there

The Norton Crypto miner is only run when you choose to enable the feature. You can stop it at any time. Other feature like VPN, Parental Control and Backup are similar in nature, you can choose to use them or not.

It shouldn't be "sorry" about a file being "baked in".  This program is like malware to me - it is unwanted and I shouldn't have to have it on my computer if I don't want it.  This program has the ability to overheat my computer and involves money and all kinds of things I don't want to do on my computer - which is strictly used for gaming.  I want this offensive program off my computer.

Anti Crypto:

I uninstalled and reinstalled and it is off the menu.  I was only a little scared.
That crypt.exe file is back, but I'm not touching it and if Norton asks me, this time, I know to say no to crypto.

Yes, NCrypt.exe file is baked in.  Sorry
Thanks for progress report.

Anti Crypto:

Hi....I'm trying to remove from program menu itself, not a shortcut.
So under my Norton, there is run smart scan and Norton Crypto (still there)
Device Security
Dark Web Monitoring
Secure VPN
Cloud Backup
Password Manager
But on my other computers, where I did not agree to Crypto, the top option is Device Security

Sorry, your attachment crypto.txt does not render my side.
Sorry, I thought you meant Start Menu shortcuts.
Sorry, I don't know how you can re-do My Norton UI.

I imagine you can fresh reinstall Norton and not agree to Crypto.
Note: the banner may still be there with My Norton view because your machine supports Norton Crypto.
Maybe, use Norton 360 Classic view.

BTW ~ I thought Norton Crypto has turn-off feature.
Caveat: my machine does not support Norton Crypto

I was able to find Norton Tamper Protection and turn it off.  That allowed me to delete the file.  I then turned it back on.

But Norton Crypto Miner still shows in my menu.  I don't know if it will work.  I tried to turn it on to see, but it just said it would start when my computer is idle.

Now that I have removed the application, is there any way to get it off the menu?

My other computer (which I did not add crypto) does not show it on the menu.

Did you try to delete NCrypt.exe with Norton Tamper Protection off?
as test:

Remember, to turn Tamper Protection back on.
Please post back progress.

I prefer not to keep having to pause it....I won't use it, I just want it gone.

Anti Crypto:

Crypto makes my computer run all the time and fan is running always

I thought there's a way to pause mining...to stop mining?

Can I pause or stop the mining at any given point?
Yes, you can pause your current mining session for 1, 4, 8, or 24 hours. Norton will automatically resume the mining after the selected duration. You can also pause the mining until the next restart of your computer. If you want to stop mining, you can turn it off. In this case, you must manually turn it on to continue mining.

Did you try with Norton Tamper Protection off?
Remember, to turn back on.

Curious, why you want to remove Norton Crypto? ...why do you want to delete NCrypt.exe?
