Like so many who have come before, I'm trying to update the Norton Family client and when it comes to the point where I sign in to configure it, I get the "server is temporarily unavailable" message. It's been going on for weeks.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. I've deleted all defined devices and all defined children. I've disabled the NIS firewall. I've manually edited the registry and removed all references to NOF. I've removed all traces and remnants of any NOF programs or folders, by both the name and the CLSID.
I've read all the posts in this forum, multiple times, day after day. I've done everything in the sticky posts from Katie, YG, and the development team. I've considered sacrificing a small animal, but the odds of that succeeding are too small to justify the mess it would make. And I couldn't explain it to the kids I'm trying to protect.
Does anyone at Symantec have anything at all to offer as a solution? Is there a particular office at Symantec to which I can send the bills for the therapy the kids will need after seeing those things on the web from which I am now powerless to protect them?
Am I spitting into the wind?
