I have added a TP-Link Archer C7 wireless router to my home network for extended range and speed. It is set up as an Access Point with the same SSID, a static IP address within the subnet of the primary DSL F@st 1704 N wireless router/gateway (channel 6), DHCP is disabled and it is set to channel 11. I finally solved the problem with it not being recognized as an access point. Now, I believe that I have narrowed the current problem to the Firewall Traffic Rules.
I would be so grateful if you could help me with the Traffic Rules. In the Firewall Activities history, it shows the Access Point as:
Rule "Default Block SSDP" rejected UDP(17) traffic with 192.168.254.50 Port (49366)
Local IP: 239.255.255.250
Local Service Port ssdp(1900)
Remote IP: 192.168.254.50
Remote Service Port (49366)
Rule "Default Block All Inbound Windows Services (Public Networks)" rejected UDP (17) traffic with 192.168.254.50 Port (51740)
Local Host:
Local IP: 255.255.255.255
Local Service Port: 7437
I have the latest version of Norton Security 22.5.2.15 with backup, Windows 8.1 64-bit, Internet Explorer 11.
All I have wanted to do is to be able to enjoy the outdoors. I have been working on this setup on and off for a few months. Now it's the end of September! Please help me configure the Traffic Rules for my access point. I have given up on attempting to add 2 Wi-Fi Security Cameras for now. Thanks for any help you can give.
Cheryl
P.S. I REALLY MISS THE NETWORK MAP.
