I have just install NAV2008 but have problem in running live updates. It shows 'Unable to contact server for updates'. Access to other websites is ok.
Can anyone advise?
Thank you
Yes, ian ping successfully.
I mean I can ping.
First, please verify that your system date/time is correct. If not, please correct it and try running LiveUpdate again. If you still have a problem, we can get more information on this issue by switching LiveUpdate to run in Interactive Mode:
1) Click Start > Control Panel.
2) Double-click Symantec LiveUpdate. If you are using Windows XP and you do not see the Symantec LiveUpdate icon, first click "Switch to classic view."
3) Click Interactive Mode.
4) Check Enable Enhanced Support, and click OK.
This should give more information on the problem. Please let us know the information you see when running LiveUpdate in Interactive Mode. Thanks!
Do you have additional firewall installed on your PC? I suppose a program is blocking LU to access the internet. Try to ping the adress liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com: Go to start menu - run, type cmd and press enter. Type ping liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com and press enter. Were you able ping the adress ?
