Unable to install Norton VPN

Please help; I am trying to install Norton Secure VPN. I keep receiving the following message: Setup has detected a previous patch has been completed but requires a restart. Please restart your computer to finish installing this version. After the restart the same message is displayed. I find that I'm in a loop, over and over again.

I'm on a desktop computer running Windows v10, and Firefox.

You are welcome. Glad I could help.

I'm slowly catching up to you. Only 5 years to go.

Thank you for your suggestion, it worked and I'm happy with the result. It's so good to have someone that can help 76 year old!

Is this a new computer? If so, is there any other non Norton security product on this computer? Even a trial can interfere with a Norton install. You would need to fully remove that product using the removal utility for that product.

If not, I would suggest a reinstall of your Norton using the Norton Removal and Reinstall tool here.   www.norton.com/nrnr  Be sure to use the Advanced Options > Remove Only. Then restart your computer and install Norton from your Norton Account. Then be sure you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available? Then restart again. Restarting, not shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled.   If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.

I'm in Melbourne Australia, running Firefox as my browser. I do have Norton VPN running on my lapto without any problems.

What country are you in? There have been some recent restrictions to availability of the VPN feature.

Thank you for your response and suggestion. I removed mu Norton 360 and re-installed it, however there is no VPN showing on it's opening page.

When you say you restarted your computer, be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.

If you already have Norton 360 on your computer, you should not be installing the stand alone Norton Secure VPN. You should just use the VPN function in 360. Otherwise you might run into incompatibilities like what you are seeing by just trying to to install the app.
