Just issue with Chrome or also issue with Edge/Firefox stores?

Hey @bjm

I had Norton Password Manager before and never had issues. First time i installed it It was in the chrome store. I recently removed it by mistake and tried to install it once again but when I searched for it in the store I couldn’t find it.

I thought it was removed but than I asked a friend of mine that doesn’t live in Malta if he can find it and he did.

Basically what I did than was turn on my VPN and choose Italy as a region and when I searched for “Norton Password Manager” in the Chrome store It was there and I could install it.

I have no issues now it’s working fine. I turned off VPN and still working fine.

Thanks for your help!

Did you try calling https://search.norton.com/protect from Chrome…scroll down page…Additional Browser Protection → Norton Password Manager → Install

Yes I did that but it says “The item is not available”

Also in firefox I could find it without issues. This happened after I updated the chrome to “Version 134.0.6998.166 (Official Build) (64-bit)”

Thanks for more details.

AI Overview
If the Chrome Web Store says “This item is not available,” it likely means the extension has been removed or is no longer available, possibly due to policy violations or technical issues.

Here’s a breakdown of potential reasons and troubleshooting steps:

Possible Reasons:

  • Policy Violations:

The extension might have been removed from the Chrome Web Store because it violated Google’s policies or terms of service.

  • Technical Issues:

There could be a temporary problem with the Chrome Web Store or the extension itself, causing it to become unavailable.

  • Extension Removal:

The developer might have chosen to remove the extension from the store, or it might have been removed by Google.

  • Mature Content:

The extension might be marked as “Mature Content” and not available for all users.

  • Managed Devices/Enterprise Users:

If you are using a managed device or enterprise environment, your administrator may have blocked the extension.

  • Incognito or Guest Mode:

You can’t install extensions in Incognito or Guest mode.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Check Chrome Web Store: Try searching for the extension again to see if it’s still available.
  • Check for Updates: Ensure you have the latest version of Chrome installed.
  • Clear Cache and Cookies: Clearing your browser cache and cookies can sometimes resolve temporary issues.
  • Disable and Re-enable Extensions: Try disabling and re-enabling other extensions to see if that resolves the issue.
  • Contact the Developer: If you believe the extension should still be available, contact the developer for assistance.
  • Check for Policy Violations: If you are the developer, review the Chrome Web Store policies and ensure your extension complies with them.
  • Check Google Admin Console (for Enterprise Users): If you are using a managed device, check with your IT administrator to ensure that the extension is not blocked.
  • Unsubscribe from Chromium Extensions Group: If you are receiving emails about the extension, you can unsubscribe from the Google Groups “Chromium Extensions” group.
  • Send Feedback: If you encounter issues, use the feedback option in Chrome to report the problem.
