I had recently been having issues with Norton Toolbar not working in Firefox 3.6.3 and was never able to get a solution to this problem. I decided to uninstall NIS 2010 and try to reinstall, I also had Norton Utilities installed and also uninstalled it. Both were uninstalled in add/remove programs. I then tried to reinstall NIS2010 with the cd and the initial screen would come up but when selecting install program the screen would disappear and nothing would happen. I then downloaded and ran Norton removal tool but when I run it it says that Norton Utilities 14 is installed and must be manually removed before it can run removal tool, I don't see that program as being installed so am not sure how to remove it. I don't have any folders related to Norton on my pc.
This is a Vista laptop and before uninstalling, the Norton toolbar worked fine in IE8 on this machine but would not in Firefox. I had the most recent version of NIS2010 and live udate was current. I also have a desktop running XP and Norton toolbar works fine on it in both IE and Firefox 3.6.3.
I am the point where I am unable to get NIS2010 to install on this machine and was forced to download a trial version of AVG to use until I can this figured out.
Can someone help me get this working again?
