Is there something in Norton 360 that prevents you from sending a email. I receive email just fine, but I am unable to send out a email.
I have:
Norton 360 v6
Windows 7
windows live mail 2011
here is what the error says: (I have x's in place of my real email address)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's email address. The sender's email address was 'xxx @ att.net.'
Subject 'test' Server Error: 530 Server Response: 530 authentication required - for help go to http://help.yahoo.com/sbc/dsl/mail/pop/pop-11.html Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78 Protocol: SMTP Port: 25 Secure(SSL): No

Thanks for the reply.
No.. I put them spaces in myself for the post, so it would show as a invalid email..
Also... I did turn off Nortons firewall and tried.. same thing.. I can't send a email. I have not tried to update, but I'll look into it.. May just go back to outlook 2007.
I went from OE to WLM 2011 and am used to it now and did get the update to 2012.
I doubt that the rejection is due to Norton so hang on since I'm not much on networking problems -- usually this kind of thing are at the ISP.
Hi atvdave,
You are getting a SMTP error indicating that you are not authenticating with the server. This would have nothing to do with Norton, although Norton displays the notification from your email service provider about the failed delivery. Are you sending through your account? Is port 25 the port that your outgoing email server requires? You may want to check with your email service provider about the problem and verifiy that your outgoing mail settings are correct.
Fixed... it was on my end..
My ISP requires authentication for STMP out going mail. I did not have that checked..
Just reinstalled windows after a crash (that's why I purchased Norton).
Thanks for the help...
