I recently (today) purchased the Norton Security Premium - 10 Device subscription. I attempted to install it (after uninstalling my old av, cleaning temp files, rebooting, and removing any other anti-malware software (Malwarebytes) and another reboot.) I always get the same error. "Error-Unable to Continue. 80047ec6, 80072ee7" and that's it. It never installs. There are no errors in the event log. I've run it normally and as an Administrator. I'm installing as a Local Admin.
Seeing as how I have several other computers, I get the exact same results. More than one of my computers lives at a different location on a different ISP, different router, and it gets the same results. I always get the same error. I was able to install Norton Utilities just fine. But Norton Download Manager won't download anything anywhere.
I've made sure the isn't a firewall in the way (Windows or Gateway). I turned off all other security services from my SonicWALL here at home (Gateway AV, Gateway IPS, Content Filtering) and get the same results. At the other two places, they are using just basic NAT routers.. no filtering at all. Windows Firewall is disabled. No third party firewalls or other security software is installed. (In fact, one of the computers I tried was a brand new, fully-patched Windows 10 Pro install. No other software other than Windows and drivers, and I get the same results.
All of my computers are a mix of Windows 10 Pro and Home. I've got one I tested that is running the release version, a few are running the anniversary update, and I have two running the creators update. All of them get the same results. These two errors. I can't find anywhere to download the entire thing to install. It looks as though it forces you to use the download manager. (I found an article from May that had a link, but they lead nowhere.. you get a not-found error from Symantec).
If I can't find a solution soon, I'll be asking for my money back.
