Peterweb - Your solution probably would work under normal circumstances. I spoke at great length with a person at Norton (in India) and she determined there was a problem with my Norton installation after unsuccessfully trying the solution you mentioned. As a result, the Norton software was uninstalled and then re-installed. That solved the problem. The Norton person initially tried to find the Reconyx software blockage within Norton using remote control of my computer and in the process determined the Norton software wasn't working properly.
