Uninstall Norton 360 and Revert to Windows Default Protection?

My Norton subscription expires in 30days. After the v24 update, I am no longer happy with the ad intrusive direction Norton 360 has taken. I would like to discontinue my subscription, and revert back to Windows default protection. If I run the Norton Removal (and Reinstall) utility, will that result in Windows Defender settings being set at default? Or are there other steps I need to follow to make sure my system is protected in the transition?
