I'd like to ask for a little help over here, and I didn't look around to see if I am posting in the right forum. I would like a moderator to move the topic if it's in the wrong section.
Anyway, the problem is that I cannot uninstall Symantec. The cause of trying to uninstall was because I couldn't update the program anymore (probably PC problems, couldn't update on other AntiVirus programs and also messenger will not work).
So I managed to delete Symantec using Add or Remove Programs option from Control Panel, the usual way I uninstall programs. So once it started to uninstall, I got out of the room for around an hour. When I came back, the uninstallation was somewhere around 75%. I was a bit confused, but decided to let it again for about half an hour. Came back, and it was the same. Around 75%. And that was curious. So I exited the uninstaller through Task Manager and tried that next day. Same happened.
A few days (or weeks) later, a friend connected an USB stick, which was infected with a virus probably called "b3b9u.bat" (not sure about the extension of the program/virus), a trojan that I had in past.
So, since Symantec couldn't work correctly, I installed a free antivirus (Avast!) attempting to delete/quarantine that virus. Which was dumb, since I knew that 2 antivirus is d*mn wrong. So symantec quarantined files from the 2nd antivirus. Curious that it still worked.
I turned off the PC. There was one more way; ask for help.
There's any way to uninstall symantec, or a better way to get rid of this virus?; the 2nd antivirus will be uninstalled; the virus might be quarantined, but I don't take any risk if it's not.
Thanks,
Help will be highly appreciated.
